Dans nos objectifs de soutenir et de venir en aide aux victimes de guerres et de catastrophes naturelles et de promouvoir les droits des enfants, International Community Dynamics en collaboration avec les Scouts et Guides de Saint Raphaël de Bujumbura avons organisé la célebration de la fête de Noël avec les enfants des rues de Bujumbura victimes de guerres au Burundi.
Au total 69 enfants de rues ont été à ce rassemblement de partage de joie et d’intégration social.
Au programme étaient:

⦁ remise de cadeaux de Noel par le père Noel

Yesterday it was Liberia, Sierra Leone and South Africa. Today Burundi and Somalia top the international news reports and we have become used to the news of serious violations of human rights happening every day in the Democratic Republic of Congo, since the start of the fratricidal wars of 1995 and 1996 in the Great Lakes Region.
In South Africa there was hope for a return to the rule of law after Apartheid, but corruption and human rights violations against black African immigrants looking to find work in this European styled country are frequent. Somalia suffers from a lack of education and Health Care since the start of the war in 1990. Today we get reports of violations of human rights by certain soldiers of the AMISOM contingent, especially gender based sexual violence as reported by Human Right Watch in the Burundi territory in January 2015.
In Burundi, serious multidimensional violations of human rights have not ceased until today. Since the independence in 1962, there have been several identity crises and genocidal killings, such as amongst others, the massacres of 1965 in the communities of Bukeye, Bugarama and Busangana; genocidal massacres against Tutsis, one of the social groups of Burundians, followed by a blind repressive regime of power. In 1988, more genocidal massacres against the Tutsis took place in the communities of Ntega and Marangara in North Burundi. In 1991, a Palipe-Hutu (militia) attack was supported by the Rwanda president Juvénal Habyarimana, who claimed to seek power after having been taken hostage by a Tutsi minority.
Then in 1993 the drama of the assassination of president Ndadaye occurred. The FRODEBU (ruling political party) power committed a genocide against the Tutsi, the Upronists (members of the UPRONA political party) and moderate Hutus. This genocide was recognised in a report of the United Nations in 1996. The Arusha agreement has enshrined the impunity for this imprescriptible, unforgiveable crime that should be non-eligible for amnesty.
The politico-diplomatic approach that gave amnesty to genocidal killers who have later become the rulers of the republic, is the underlying cause of the deep pain that the Burundians suffer today as we can see in the reports coming in of serious violations of human rights, since April 2015.
After April 2015 and with the unconstitutional forced election of Pierre Nkurunziza for his third mandate, Burundi has descended into a crisis that has caused more than 2000 deaths, 8000 prisoners and more than 260,000 refugees.
The power in Bujumbura continues to trace the Burundian refugees to their places of exile. We have seen the slaughter of Kamanyola in Congo, the serious human rights violations at the asylum seekers camps in Bukiriro in Tanzania and the threat of attacks aimed at the refugees of Nduta in the Tanzanian district of Kibondo.
The authorities keep claiming that peace reigns over the whole territory and that the country does not need external help.
With disdain they organise demonstrations against the organisations that denounce Burundi’s ails or denounce those that are friendly with the governors and the militia Imbonerakure.

They also direct their anger at neighbouring countries such as Rwanda and at Western countries, Belgium in particular. During their demonstrations they don’t hesitate to revile the UN.
The Bujumbura government resorts to demonstrations after each report that denounces the serious violations of human rights. These demonstrations have become the modus operandi of the bloody regime of Bujumbura.
The country that once had a slow economic growth is now ranking as the last in the world. The stubbornness of Bujumbura in its refusal to work with the Western powers and the United Nations and its withdrawal of the Convention of Rome which has established International Criminal Court of Den Hague, will drive the country to diplomatic isolation.
If the international community does not act to save the Burundians, nothing will stop Pierre Nkurunziza to lead the country, which is already on a descent into hell, incessantly to the abyss.

Hier c’était la Liberia, le Sierra Leone et l’Afrique du sud. Aujourd’hui le Burundi et la Somalie sont à la une des rapports internationaux. La république démocratique du Congo quant à lui ce n’est plus un secret de polichinelle les violations des droits de l’homme s’y commettent du jour au lendemain depuis le début des guerres fratricides des années 1995 et 1996 dans la région des grands lacs.
En Afrique du sud après l’apartheid c’était l’espoir de retour d’un état de droit mais la corruption et les violations des droits de l’homme à l’endroit des émigrés de l’Afrique noir pour chercher du travail dans ce pays assimilé à l’Europe sont souvent fréquents. En Somalie c’est l’absence de l’éducation et des soins de santés depuis le début de la guerre en 1990. Aujourd’hui on y rapporte les violations des droits de l’homme commises par certains des militaires du contingent AMISOM, surtout les violences sexuelles basées sur le genre. Ces cas de violences sexuelles basées sur le genre ont été rapportées par Human Right Watch en janvier 2015 sur le contingent burundais.
Pour le Burundi, les violations graves des droits de l’homme sont multidimensionnelles et ne cèssent de se commettre jusqu’aujourd’hui. Dans les années qui ont suivi l’obtention de l’indépendance en 1962, il ya eu des crises identitaires et des tueries aux dynamiques génocidaires. Nous citerons entre autre les massacres de 1965 dans les communes de Bukeye, Bugarama et Busangana ;en 1972 des massacres aux dynamiques génocidaires contre les Tutsi, une des composantes sociale du peuple burundais, suivi d’une répression aveugle du pouvoir ;en 1988 toujours des massacres aux dynamiques génocidaires contre les tutsi dans les communes de Ntega et Marangara au nord du Burundi; en 1991 une attaque du palipe-hutu avec la même cadence, celui-ci soutenu par le Rwanda de Habyarimana se réclamait en quête du pouvoir selon leur révendication prise en otage par une minorité tutsi. Le drame survient alors en 1993 avec l’assassinat du président Ndadaye. Le pouvoir du FRODEBU commet alors le génocide contre les tutsi et les hutu membres du parti Uprona ou modérés. Celui-ci a été reconnu par le rapport des enquêteurs des Nations Unis en 1996. Pour ce crime imprescriptible impardonnable et inamnistiable, les accords d’Arusha y ont consacré l’impunité.
Cette démarche politico diplomatique qui a accordé l’amnistie aux génocidaires qui sont par après devenu gestionnaires de la république c’est ça la cause profonde des malheurs qu’endure les burundais aujourd’hui avec tous les rapports sur les graves violations des droits de l’homme qui se commettent depuis Avril 2015.
Après le mois d’Avril et avec le forcing électoral de Pierre Nkurunziza , le pays est plongé dans une crise qui a fait plus de 2000 morts 8000 prisonniers et plus de 260.000 refugiés. Le pouvoir de Bujumbura continue de traquer les refugiés burundais dans leur milieu d’éxil. Nous pouvons noter le carnage de Kamanyola au Congo, les graves violations des droit de l’homme à l’ endroit des demandeurs d’asile de Bukiriro en Tanzanie et les ménaces d’attaques qui pèsent sur les refugies de Nduta dans le district de Kibondo en Tanzanie. Les autorités ne cèssent de chanter que la paix règne sur toute l’étendue du territoire et que le pays n’a même pas besoin des aides extérieures. Avec un fier dédain, ils organisent des manifestations contres tous les organisations qui dénoncent le ca ne va pas au Burundi ou qui fais un clin d’oeil aux gouvernants et aux miliciens imbonerakure.

Ils jettent également leurs torts aux pays voisins tel que le Rwanda et les pays occidentaux en particulier la Belgique. Dans leurs manifestations, ils n’hésitent pas à injurier les nations unies, chaque fois qu’il ya un rapport qui dénonce les graves violations des droits de l’homme, le gouvernement de Bujumbura recours à des manifestations. Donc les manifestations sont devenues le modus opérande du régime sanguinaire de Bujumbura.
Le pays qui avait un taux de croissance économique faible est aujourd’hui classé dernier au monde. A cause de l’entêtement de Bujumbura de coopérer avec les puissances occidentales et les nations unies le pays va sombrer bientôt dans un isolement diplomatique et avec son retrait dans la convention de Rome qui a mis sur pied la cour pénale internationale de la Haye. Si la communauté internationale ne fait pas son mieux pour sauver les burundais, rien ne l’empêchera de conduire le pays aujourdhui en descente aux enfers et incessamment vers le gouffre.

We are still in the process of setting up the not-for-profit officially, but that doesn’t mean that we have been sitting still.
What we have done so far:
We organised ‘Guitars for people in Direct Provision’ a project that is still running, where we ask the people of Ireland to donate their unused instruments, especially guitars and keyboards to the asylum seekers who live in Direct Provision Centers in Ireland. Starting in Cork we have so far collected around 12 guitars and 3 keyboards. Several tutors have come forward and we have had a full summer of teaching.

June the 16th marked the International Day of the African Child. To mark that day and to create awareness we produced a podcast with interviews with people from South Africa, Zimbabwe and Rwanda, mixed with some music. Have a listen:
We have joined forces with a charity shop in Bandon to supply clothes to the residents of the Direct Provision centers. In Ireland asylum seekers have no right to work, and only get 21.50€/week to spend. Hardly enough to buy a few snacks. That’s why we supply clothes for men, women and children and sometimes also bring books and toys along. This would not be possible without the help of Mary O’Donoghue the owner of the Mary’s charity shop in Bandon, co. Cork.
